FMQ – Wine is fine, but…

“Mellow, ” I thought, “Mellow is good for FMQ, that’s why some people drink wine.  I can’t drink wine, but hey!  These pain killers make me mellow, why not?”

Yeah.  Apparently you can be a little too mellow.

Perhaps FMQ isn’t the thing to do if you’ve put your back out and have pain killers in your system.  At the 9th day of having a sore back though, I was going more than a little stir crazy.  I had to do something.

So there I was, just stitching along yesterday, when I realised as I tried to move my hand that it wasn’t moving.

I got a full 10 stitches in before I stopped the machine and removed my hand from the glove.  I swear I watched at least the last 5 being formed too.

Luckily, not one stitch went into my hand.  I’d like to think that I would have reacted faster if even one did though.

I’d suggest sticking with wine or some other “mild” drink if you must to relax.

The tension was great though.  The stitches were a bear to remove!  HA!

How about you?  What sort of sewing mishaps have you had from a moment (or ten) of inattention?
